iaedp - The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals

The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) was formed in 1985 to provide quality education and training standards to an international multidisciplinary group of healthcare treatment providers and helping professions who treat the full spectrum of eating disorder problems including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, compulsive overeating, and binge eating.
iaedp offers a highly respected certification process for those who wish to receive specialized credentials in their work with people with eating disorders, and frequently publishes articles that address contemporary treatment issues. The certification process is an especially important part of the iaedp program. Reflecting both experience and education, certification verifies supervised work experience, academic course work completed, and the satisfactory passing of a written examination.
Membership in iaedp confirms a practitioner's dedication to the highest ethical standards, rigorous training accomplishments, continuing education, and personal growth.

AED - The Academy for Eating Disorders
The Victorian staff also includes members of The Academy for Eating Disorders (AED). The AED is a global, multidisciplinary professional organization that provides cutting-edge professional training and education, inspires new developments in eating disorders research, prevention, and clinical treatments, and is the international source for state-of-the-art information in the field of eating disorders.
The Academy's objectives are to:
- Disseminate knowledge regarding eating disorders to members of the Academy, other professionals, and the general public
- Promote the effective treatment and care of patients with eating disorders and associated disorders
- Develop and advance initiatives for the prevention of eating disorders
- Promote multidisciplinary expertise within the Academy's membership
- Identify and reward outstanding achievement and service in the field
- Advocate for the field on behalf of patients, the public, and eating disorder professionals
- Stimulate and support research in the field
- Assist in the development of guidelines for training, practice, and professional conduct within the field

ADP - The California Department of Alcohol & Drug Programs
The Victorian Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Orange County is one of the few eating disorder treatment facilities in the world that provides treatment for eating disorders and addiction as co-occurring disorders. The Victorian is part of the Sober Living by the Sea network of treatment centers in Newport Beach, which provides over 23 years of experience treating alcoholism and drug addiction in addition to eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and compulsive overeating.
Sober Living by the Sea is a member of the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP). The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs is responsible for administering prevention, treatment, and recovery services for alcohol and drug abuse and problem gambling. The Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs is designated as the Single State Agency (SSA) responsible for administering and coordinating the state’s efforts in alcohol and drug abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery services. ADP is also the primary state agency responsible for interagency coordination of these services.
The ADP provides leadership and coordination in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive statewide alcohol and drug use prevention, intervention, detoxification, and treatment and recovery system. The Department utilizes each of the 58 county alcohol and drug programs as the broker of service. The counties in turn are able to provide services to clients either directly or by contracting with local service providers.
