The Victorian of Newport Beach is an exclusive and beautiful Victorian style facility located blocks from the Pacific Ocean and Lido Island in Orange County, California. The Victorian is a safe and caring place for the treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and compulsive overeating. Chemical dependency (alcoholism and drug addiction) and other dual diagnoses are an integral part in individualized treatment planning. The Victorian of Newport Beach offers four phases of treatment to meet the needs of our eating disorder clients. The helpful staff at our treatment center for eating disorders has created the best program possible in a very nice home to help women overcome their bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, or compulsive overeating/binge eating.

Expert Clinical Eating Disorder Treatment in a Cozy Victorian Home
The Victorian is an exceptional eating disorder treatment program because it is staffed by the best clinical experts in the field of eating disorder treatment. The residential facility is anything but clinical - the women clients at The Victorian live in a nice and fun loving home right in Newport Beach just steps from the sand. Our caring and genuine staff connects with the loved ones that are sent here and a bond of respect and understanding is formed immediately. The women who come to The Victorian have been suffering from bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, or have been binge eating for some time and need help to stop. They have been judged and hurt by their loved ones while also while also causing others pain. The cycle of an eating disorder is one of shame, confusion, and low self esteem. The Victorian is an intimate and caring escape that will allow women to arrest their eating disorder, look within, learn about what causes them to behave in certain ways, and forge a pathway to change.
The women who guide The Victorian's female clients on their path to healing are all well versed in treating the whole person, not just the eating disorder. There will be an initial assessment that will provide an understanding of the woman's complete life and address issues like family, culture, and social experiences.
The setting is a nice and cozy Victorian House in exciting Newport Beach and the living arrangements could not possibly be more comfortable or welcoming. Program Director Michele Lob has created the perfect environment for a woman to receive top notch clinical help while feeling as though they are guests at a loving vacation home surrounded by others who are learning to live a new life together.
The clinical process of The Victorian has been designed and is overseen by acclaimed eating disorder treatment physician Dr. Barbara Cole. She is a pioneer in the field of eating disorder treatment having invented her “no resistance method” and has authored many books on the subject.
The caring and nurturing Victorian staff supports our clients by helping with meal preparation and mealtime monitoring. Clients are taught cooking skills and enjoy regular restaurant outings. Restaurant outings are chaperoned by a staff therapist who will assist our clients in developing confidence in their food choices.

We have a multidisciplinary panel of professionals who have created a team approach resulting in a uniquely therapeutic environment. This team of experts has had great success in the treatment of eating disorders. We begin planning for the continuing care of our clients as soon as they arrive. The staff at The Victorian will help set goals for our clients and help them to plan for long term recovery from their eating disorder and related issues.
