Michele Lob, Psy.D., MFT is the new Clinical Director for The Victorian House for Eating Disorder Treatment. The Victorian is a highly effective treatment facility for anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive overeating.
"Michele is well-recognized as an expert in the field of eating disorder treatment. Her clinical skills and knowledge will help take this great program to a level of national recognition as a center of excellence," said Kathy Sylvia, Executive Director. "We are extremely please to have her as our Clinical Director."
Dr. Michele Lob is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, alcohol and chemical dependency, and other self-harm behaviors. Previously, she has held an array of positions at various eating disorder and substance abuse treatment around Southern California.
Michele is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) and an Orange County Board Member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). She is also a certified Life Coach.
"Eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia are widely misunderstood and can be lonely and shameful diseases," says Lob. "At The Victorian, we help the women learn how to value and love themselves as they embrace and sustain new healthy behaviors in a nurturing, warm, supportive environment."
Dr. Lob integrates several therapeutic styles and techniques, including sandtray therapy, to work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized goals and determine the best possible treatment outcomes. She believes that each client is unique and understands that the nature of addictive behaviors takes emotional and physical tolls on the sufferer and their loved ones as well.
"Because an entire family is usually affected, we've designed a new family program that incorporates family dinners, education, and offers intensive family therapy to further support our clients in their recovery and healing process," she says.
Michele articulates her passion as offering women genuine love, hope and caring on their journey to self-empowerment and successful recovery from eating disorders.
